GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Police are investigating an attempted abduction in central Nebraska.

Grand Island police said the incident happened near 12th and Elm Street Monday afternoon.

A 13-year-old boy had been walking home from Walnut Middle School during the attempted attack.

They said the boy noticed a car parked in an alley with a man standing nearby.

The man from the car then followed the boy, grabbed him, and tried to pull him toward the car.

Police said the boy was able to get away and ran back home.

Police are looking for a thin Hispanic male in his late teens to mid-20s, with blue highlights in his hair.

They are also looking for a red newer model small vehicle that they believe is connected with the incident.
