CAMBRIDGE, Neb. -- The ongoing wildfires in southwest Nebraska are nearly halfway contained.

According to a Tuesday morning update from the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, the Road 702 Fire is now 47 percent contained.

Officials say additional resources have arrived from several surrounding states to help with suppression efforts on the fire.

The arrival of these resources has allowed local firefighters to get some rest after several weeks of fire activity.

A total of 159 personnel have been deployed to fight the blaze, which is now estimated to have burned around 41,000 acres.

A red flag warning is in effect from noon until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
