Grand Island man sentenced for car lot stabbing

A central Nebraska man will spend years in prison after being sentenced for a 2021 stabbing.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A central Nebraska man will spend years in prison after being sentenced for a 2021 stabbing.

24-year-old Thomas Franks was sentenced to 10-18 years in prison for first-degree assault and 4-5 years in prison for attempted use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

He was also sentenced to 2-3 years in prison for assaulting an officer.

Police arrested Franks for stabbing another man at a Grand Island car lot on May 24th of last year.
