Leyton names new head volleyball coach

DALTON, NE — Leyton has a new leader for its high school volleyball team. Wednesday morning, the district announced Natasha Haupt as head coach of the Lady Warriors volleyball team.

DALTON, NE — Leyton has a new leader for its high school volleyball team. 

Wednesday morning, the district announced Natasha Haupt as head coach of the Lady Warriors volleyball team. 

According to the district, Haupt has more than 20 years of experience in the sport as a player and coach. Haupt played college volleyball at Blue Mountain Community College in Oregon. 

She has coached in numerous recreation leagues in and around Sidney. In a statement, Haupt said she is excited to join the Leyton school district. 

"I cannot wait to get started with this group of talented young ladies," she said. "The opportunity is there for us and with hard work, we can compete."

Brad Hicks will remain on the school's volleyball staff as an assistant coach.
