Omaha Police targeting abandoned cars

Starting today, abandoned cars in Omaha prepare to face the business end of a tow truck.

OMAHA, Neb. -- Starting today, abandoned cars in Omaha prepare to face the business end of a tow truck.

Operation “Tow Sweep” finds police looking for cars that are unlicensed, unregistered, or parked in one spot for 48 hours.

Cars parked in prohibited places like a sidewalk are also subject to towing or ticketing.

Cars on private property in violation of city codes are also in jeopardy.

Anyone receiving a “Notice of Nuisance” will have ten days to clear things up.
