Norfolk Man Sentenced To Prison For Strangulation

A Norfolk man will spend at least four years in prison after authorities say he punched and choked a woman.

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man will spend at least four years in prison after authorities say he punched and choked a woman.

A Madison County judge on Thursday sentenced 27-year-old Jacob Pedroza to 4 to 7 years in prison for assault by strangulation - second offense.

According to court documents, an officer with the Norfolk Police Division was called to the 900 Block of S. 6th Street for a report of a domestic assault.

On arrival, the officer noticed blood and cuts on the victim's face.

The victim was taken to Faith Regional Health Services for injuries sustained during the reported assault.

In addition to the prison sentence, the court recommended anger counseling and drug and alcohol treatment while incarcerated.
