OSMOND - A trio of churches in Osmond are encouraging residents to come together in daily prayer as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
Beginning Wednesday, the United Methodist Church, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and Immanuel Lutheran Church will be ringing their bells at 10 AM and 4 PM to bring the community together in prayer. Pastor Rodgers Chishiba of the United Methodist Church says the practice will help remind residents about the power of prayer.
"This pandemic has come in a way we did not expect, so as a community of faith we have come together to intercede and pray together because nothing is impossible with God," Chishiba said.
Pastor Chishiba hopes the practice will bring the Osmond community together in a common bond to help one another get through this unprecedented time.
"There's nothing we can do by our own strength, even when this pestilence is gone we must remember the power of prayer," Chishiba said. "We have to remember each other, remember our leaders, remember our country, and remember our communities."
"We have so many troubles around us, how can we overcome those troubles if we do not come together and speak to God?" Chishiba said.
