Authorities respond to a call of shots fired in Fairbury Thursday, two suspects arrested
The call came in just before 11:30 a.m. in the area of 1015 4th St.

FAIRBURY - Jefferson County authorities were called to a Fairbury residence Thursday morning on a report of shots fired.
The call came in just before 11:30 a.m. in the area of 1015 4th St. The reporting party stated that a male he identified as Trace Peters had shown up at his house, fired a pistol in the area and then ran off toward the south.
Fairbury Public Schools briefly went into lockout during the incident. One suspect was identified as Trace Peters, 21, who was found hiding in a nearby garage.
Peters was taken into custody without incident. A firearm was recovered, along with items of illegal narcotics (methamphetamine). Drug paraphernalia was also found on Peters' person.
The firearm was identified as a black pistol with a defaced serial number. Four empty shell casings were also found.
Upon further investigation, another male subject, Jason Blake, 39, was arrested for Obstruction of a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.
Peters was charged with Terroristic Threats, Use of A Firearm to Commit a Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Defaced Firearm and Flight to Avoid Arrest.
Both suspects are being housed at the Jefferson County Jail. The matter remains under investigation.
