Tempe, Ariz. --- Nebraska led No. 15/17 Arizona State 3-2 in the middle of the fifth inning, but the Sun Devils scored five runs over the next two innings to get away with 7-3 victory over the Huskers on Saturday night. 

Olivia Ferrell started (3-7) and gave up six runs on seven hits through five innings of work. She also recorded three strikeouts. At the plate, Ferrell had an RBI single, helping on both sides of the ball. Courtney Wallace pitched 1.0 inning of relief. She gave up one run on two hits.

The Husker offense had seven hits on the day. Tristen Edwards led the team going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Cam Ybarra, Peyton Glatter, Ally Riley and Samantha Owen also had one hit.

ASU's Cielo Meza improved to 9-2 pitching 5.0 innings. She gave up three runs on six hits and had four strikeouts. 

ASU took a 1-0 lead in the first after a solo home run. 

Nebraska tied it up in the fourth. Edwards doubled and scored after singles from Walljasper and Ferrell. In the bottom of the inning, the Sun Devils regained the lead, scoring one run off two hits. 

The Huskers responded scoring two runs in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. Glatter hit a leadoff single and Riley hit a sac bunt to move her to second. Boruff pinch ran for Glatter and scored after Owen doubled. Edwards hit another double to score Owen. ASU took back the lead, scoring four runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning. 

Arizona State added one more in the sixth after a pair of hits to go up 7-3. 

The Huskers attempted a comeback in the top of the seventh. Riley hit a one-out single and Brooke Andrews ran for her. However, the Sun Devils retired the next two batters to end the game.

- Tristen Edwards went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI hit extending her hit streak to 12 games and her on-base streak to 14 games.

Huskers Get Eight-Inning Win Over Lehigh

Tempe, Ariz. --- In a tough eight-inning battle, Nebraska prevailed over Lehigh on Saturday at the ASU Invitational, 3-2, in its first of two games on the day.

Lindsey Walljasper pitched a gem in the circle. She went 6.0 innings and gave up one run on five hits and three strikeouts. At the plate, Walljasper also drove in the winning run in the eighth inning.

Olivia Ferrell picked up the win and improved to 3-6 on the season. She pitched 2.0 innings of relief and gave up one unearned run. She also had three strikeouts. 

Nebraska had six hits on the day, which included four from Cam Ybarra. In addition to Walljasper, Edwards had NU's other hit. 

Lehigh's Parker Boyd (4-3) was tough, pitching 8.0 innings. She gave up one earned run on six hits and had 13 strikeouts. 

In the second, Ybarra hit a one-out double and Glatter drew a walk to put a pair of runners on, but Lehigh retired the next two batters to leave a pair stranded.

In the fourth, Nebraska took a 1-0 lead after taking advantage of a Mountain Hawk error. Ferrell reached on an error and Bree Boruff pinch ran for her. She stole second and reached third after a deep fly ball allowed her to tag and advance. Ybarra doubled to plate her. In the bottom of the inning, Lehigh got runners on the corners with one out after a pair of hits and looked to tie the game. However, Nebraska retired the next two batters to get out of the inning with the lead.

For the second straight inning, the Mountain Hawks put runners on first and third with one out after a pair of hits in the fifth. The Husker defense stepped up though retiring the next two batters without allowing a run. 

Lehigh tied it up in the sixth after a two-out solo home run. 

Neither team scored in the seventh, pushing the game to extra innings. 

In the eighth, Brooke Andrews was placed on second due to the tiebreaker rule. With two outs, Lehigh got a strikeout, but the pitch went wild and kept the Husker hopes alive. Ferrell reached first on the play and Andrews reached third. Then Ferrell stole second to put a pair of runs in scoring position. Walljasper singled to score the go-ahead runs. In the bottom of the inning, the Huskers committed an error that allowed one run to score, but Ferrell got a big strikeout to end the game.

- Nebraska played in its first extra-innings game of the season. 
- Tristen Edwards had two hits extending her hit streak to 11 games and her on-base streak to 13 games.
- Cam Ybarra went 4-for-4 with three doubles marking her third-straight multi-hit game. She is the first Husker to have three doubles in one game since Bri Cassidy had three against Lamar on Feb. 8, 2019. She is the first Husker to have four hits in a single game since Tristen Edwards had four against Tulsa on March 16, 2019.
