Clear skies, temperature near 50, ideal for Fifth Annual Beatrice Holiday Lighted Parade

BEATRICE – Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Beatrice Saturday night for what’s become an annual Christmas season tradition.
The Fifth Annual Holiday Lighted Parade, sponsored by the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce, featured floats lit up with holiday lights and decorations. The parade traveled north on Fifth Street from Perkins to High Street.
Those attending were greeted by clear skies and a temperature near 50.
Float entries in the parade included those from local businesses, banks, the local hospital and Southeast Community College. City Fire trucks and utility department vehicles were also dressed up with lights and decorations.
Entries were judged by a panel.
Santa Claus paid a visit to the downtown area and kids could meet him after the parade, at the Carnegie Building.
A display of live reindeer outside the chamber office was sponsored by Beatrice Community Hospital.
