BRADY - One person is recovering after a semi rollover accident that killed more than a dozen cattle on I-80 Thursday night.

According to a news release, Nebraska State Patrol says troopers responded to the interstate near Brady around 10:30 p.m.

Authorities say troopers found that a cattle-hauler had rolled and was in the median.

Much of the cattle were loose and some had been killed.

The driver, 58-year-old Leonard Landers, of Loup City, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers, Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and local ranchers herded the cattle off the road.

More than 100 head of cattle were in the trailer and sixteen of those were killed in the crash.
