Beatrice Educational Foundation Holding Event to Raise Funds for Technology in Schools
BEF event will seek to raise funds for technology in schools

BEATRICE – The Beatrice Educational Foundation will hold its first major fundraising campaign September 13th, with the emphasis on financing improved technology in the school district that benefits students.
Foundation Executive Director Doris Martin says the Luck of the Orange event coming up, September 13th, at the Vintage Venue in Beatrice, originated from a combination of efforts.
The Beatrice School District 15 previously was able to make use of a technology levy of up to one-cent of valuation on $100 of property, but that authority has since expired.
Martin, a retired teacher and a Beatrice School Board member, says the campaign will focus on raising money for projects at the elementary, middle school and high school levels.
The foundation will attempt to raise money to provide enough mini-iPads for a classroom set at each of the elementary schools in the district…. a three-D scanner at the Beatrice Middle School….and video editing and software at Beatrice High School to help create messaging with the new digital video scoreboard in the O-Zone…as well as improving editing skills for students.
Taken together, the equipment costs about $32,000 to acquire.
The B-E-F Luck of the Orange event at the Vintage Venue will be September 13th, beginning at six p.m.
