FEMA Approves More than $64 Million to Support Recovery in Iowa and Nebraska

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, FEMA recently approved more than $64 million in funding to support recovery for past disasters in Iowa and Nebraska for Public Assistance projects, which include debris removal, emergency protective measures and the repair or replacement of public infrastructure damaged by disasters.

This regional funding is part of a broader effort announced by the Department of Homeland Security and was approved prior to the government funding lapse.

Here are some of the FEMA grants recently approved across Iowa and Nebraska: 

  • More than $3.7 million to the City of Rock Valley, Iowa for repairs and emergency protective measures
     

  • More than $5.7 million to the Rock Valley Community School District for building repairs
     

  • More than $1.5 million to the City of Minden, Iowa for repair and replacement of public utilities
     

  • More than $3 million to the Omaha, Neb. Public Power District for repairs
     

  • More than $1.9 to Omaha Parks and Recreation for repairs 


FEMA will continue to review additional projects and obligate funds on a rolling basis as eligibility is confirmed and scopes of work are finalized.
