Hastings father charged in infant son's death waives hearing, could head to trial

A Hastings man accused of leaving his 5-month old son in a hot car is on track to head to trial after waiving a court hearing.

HASTINGS, Neb. – A Hastings man accused of leaving his 5-month old son in a hot car is on track to head to trial after waiving a court hearing. 

According to court records, Jeremy Hansen, 36, waived a probable cause hearing on Sept. 3.

His case has been transferred to Adams County District Court for a possible trial.

Hansen is accused of leaving his son in a car in a parking lot on July 28, resulting in the infant's death. 

He faces a negligent child abuse resulting in death charge, and will appear back in court on Oct. 1 for an arraignment hearing.
