KEARNEY, Neb. - It’s not every day you see a “mobile home” that wasn’t built to move, but in Kearney Tuesday morning, an entire house was rolling through town after being lifted from its foundation.

Crews began work around 10 a.m. at the corner of East 35th Street and B Avenue, where they lifted the house off its foundation and slowly rolled it away from the property.

The oversized load blocked both lanes, with Kearney Police directing traffic and keeping the area clear.

It took just under an hour and a half to move the large structure roughly two city blocks.

NCN observed construction crews beginning work on the now-vacant lot shortly after the move.

The relocation clears space for an expansion of Kearney Catholic’s parking lot on the south side of the school.
