KEARNEY, Neb. - College students in Central Nebraska are ringing in the new academic year with an annual back-to-school celebration.

This year's loper lot party took place at Yanney Heritage Park where students, employees and community members enjoyed various free entertainment.

This included live performances from Kyle Sayler music in addition to yard games, kayaking, paddle boarding, bingo and more.

Nearly a dozen local food trucks also stopped by the site to offer students a taste.

The evening finished with a drone show which was brought back by popular demand.

The fall semester at UNK started on August 25.
