ALLO Fiber confirms dozens of employee layoffs across Nebraska
ALLO Fiber reduced its workforce by 9% across the six states it serves on Wednesday.
By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - ALLO Fiber reduced its workforce by 9% across the six states it serves on Wednesday.
The internet provider told News Channel Nebraska's partners at 10/11 News that less than 70 employees in 40 Nebraska communities were affected. In an email acquired by 10/11, ALLO President Brad Moline said roughly 150 employees were let go across the entire company.
On Wednesday, several employees were instructed to join a Zoom meeting where ALLO leadership announced the layoffs and asked those affected to gather their belongings.
“As we have done throughout our 22-year history, ALLO will allocate resources toward constructing new markets and regions while continuing to provide exceptional service to customers in our existing markets,” ALLO Fiber said in a statement. “To deliver a great service at a fair price, we must be efficient. As our construction of any market concludes, we require fewer personnel.”
The company said while it retains as many employees as possible to support their growth, it “must occasionally eliminate certain roles that are no longer required.” Leadership said the layoffs were determined regardless of performance.
ALLO Fiber said it plans to grow its footprint by building in new communities going forward.
