Attorney General Hilgers sends cease and desist letters to 82 stores in Lincoln selling THC products

By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN, Neb.-- 82 Lincoln stores that sell THC-containing products will be receiving cease and desist letters due to what the state attorney general says are mislabeled products.
Investigators with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and Nebraska's Attorney General's Office made purchases of THC-containing products from stores owned by 39 different companies.
After investigating at least one product from each store marketed as hemp, a news release says they found delta-9 concentrations that exceeded the legal limit. Therefore, the concentration is considered marijuana.
The release says that 90% of the products had labels that incorrectly identified the products.
The letters included that the stores are not only engaging in deceptive behavior but also are engaging in the sale of controlled substances. To combat this, Hilgers' office is requesting they immediately clear all sales of THC-containing products to avoid litigation.
Hilgers says his office has sent cease and desist letters to 204 businesses for various violations over his tenure.
