Motorcyclist killed in Highway 71 crash north of Scottsbluff

Motorcyclist Aaron Mead, 40, of Scottsbluff, passed away Saturday in a crash on Highway 71 north of Scottsbluff.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – A 40-year-old man from Mead, Neb. was killed Saturday in a motorcycle crash on Highway 71, north of Scottsbluff, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

At approximately 11:55 a.m., troopers received a report of a single-vehicle crash. Deputies from both Scotts Bluff County and Sioux County also responded to the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a road sign. Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Aaron Mead, 40, of Scottsbluff.
