Holdrege to consider adding transitional housing

Phelps County is hosting several upcoming discussions about the possibility of adding more housing options for those who are struggling.

HOLDREGE, Neb. - Phelps County is hosting several upcoming discussions about the possibility of adding more housing options for those who are struggling.

Crossroads Mission Avenue is considering turning a motel in Holdrege into a transitional living facility.

Officials say the facility is different from a homeless shelter, and is meant to be a longer-term option for community members before finding more permanent housing solutions.

Two town hall discussions will take place for the community to gain more information and ask questions.

The sessions are on Friday, April 11 at 3:30 and 5:30 pm at the South Central Area Recovery offices in Holdrege.
