CENTRAL CITY, Neb. — The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a pair of bad accidents over the last couple of weekends.

Ethan Wibben, a Wayne County resident, was cited after his small SUV crossed the center line heading west and hit a sports car head-on halfway between Grand Island and Chapman on Highway 30. Wibben was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities say the sports car driver, Salea Gillespie of Polk County, was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries, and a passenger in the car was also treated at a hospital for minor injuries. Officials do not believe alcohol or drugs were suspected.

On Valentine's Day, Tiffany Rosenquist was driving this red car when she sideswiped a semi, avoiding a head-on collision a few miles southeast of Silver Creek on Highway 30, according to the Sheriff's Office. While there were no injuries reported, Rosenquist was taken to jail after testing over two-times the legal limit, authorities say.
