HASTINGS, Neb.- Winter weather continues across the area as the entire state of Nebraska is under some type of winter advisory or warning.

The National Weather Service out of Hastings provided residents in the surrounding areas with several important winter weather updates for the week.

The NWS first issued a Winter Weather Advisory that is in effect for the area Monday through at least 6 p.m Tuesday which includes off and on snow that lingers into Wednesday morning.

An Extreme Cold warning starts Tuesday morning and lasts until Thursday morning, where wind chills of around 20 to 30 degrees below zero are expected each night.

Dangerous wind chills as low as 30 degrees below zero can cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes, along with causing water pipes to rupture.

However there is hope on the horizon as temperatures are expected to climb above freezing on Saturday and into the 50's on Sunday.
