Beason taken with top spot in Pro Volleyball Federation draft
Nebraska senior Merritt Beason will have a professional volleyball career as the Atlanta Vibe have taken her No. 1 overall in the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation draft.

By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska senior Merritt Beason will have a professional volleyball career as the Atlanta Vibe have taken her No. 1 overall in the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation draft.
The Vibe made a swap with the Indy Ignite, giving up the No. 2 and the No. 9 picks in the draft to get the No. 1 pick and a 3rd round choice as well.
Beason is averaging 2.98 kills per set and a .245 hitting percentage for the Huskers (27-1) this season.
The 2025 regular season for the PVF gets underway the weekend of Jan. 9-12, 2025. Atlanta will begin play at Omaha on Jan. 10, 2025.
