Hastings city council, mayoral candidates share views at televised forum

The City of Hastings will see a major change in its leadership in 2025.

HASTINGS, Neb. — The City of Hastings will see a major change in its leadership in 2025.

Four of the eight city council members will change and the city will have a new mayor. The 10 candidates for the five posts all gathered at the Hastings Museum on Wednesday night for the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce’s candidate forum. The event ran from 7:00-8:30 and was televised and streamed by News Channel Nebraska. Nearly 100 people attended.

The forum featured a selection of prepared questions from the Chamber. Members of the public also submitted questions for the candidates.
