Hastings City Administrator running for Minnesota city government position

HASTINGS, Neb. – Current Hastings City Administrator Shawn Metcalf is one of three candidates for a different city administrator job in Minnesota.

According to the city website of Forest Lake, MN, a post from Sept. 13 lists Metcalf as a finalist for its city administrator position. 

Metcalf is facing a potential end to his job in Hastings, as the city council will vote Monday night to terminate him.

Metcalf has been on administrative leave since Sept. 5, and the city hasn't provided a reason why he was placed on leave. 

Assistant City Administrator Mark Funkey is currently the acting city administrator in Metcalf's absence.
