Two Kearney High cross country runners are OK after being hit by a vehicle while running.
KEARNEY, Neb. — Two Kearney High cross country runners are OK after being hit by a vehicle while running.
The Kearney Police Department says the accident happened Tuesday afternoon on 30th Ave. about a block north of U.S. Highway 30. A police spokesman says a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl suffered minor injuries and were transported to a hospital as a precaution.
Police cited the driver of the vehicle for a traffic violation.
A Kearney Public Schools spokesperson confirmed the girls are Kearney High students and were running as part of cross country practice.
