Voter registration deadlines approaching in Nebraska
The deadline to register to vote is fast approaching.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The deadline to register to vote is fast approaching.
Nebraskans are only a month away from the deadline to register online or by mail to vote in the upcoming election. Secretary of State Bob Evnen is working to motivate Nebraska citizens to register to vote.
“Voting is a critical part of our democracy,” Secretary Evnen said. “Nebraskans can make their voices heard by voting in the upcoming November 5 general election.”
Nebraskans are encouraged to first check whether they are registered to vote in Nebraska on the state’s VoterCheck website. Nebraskans can register to vote by mail, at a state agency (DMV, DHHS, Dept. of Ed.), via a deputy registrar or via a personal agent.
Nebraskans should be aware of two general election voter registration deadlines: October 18 is the last day to register to vote online, by mail, at a state agency, via deputy registrar or via personal agent and October 25 is the last day to register to vote at county election offices.
Voters should be aware of Nebraska’s new voter ID law, which requires to present an acceptable photo ID.
September 17th is National Voter Registration Day.
