BLUE HILL, Neb. – The Blue Hill Aquatic Center (BHAC) is honoring Hastings Aquacourt season passes for the remainder of the summer.

The move by BHAC is in response to the Hastings Aquacourt closing due to a tragic accident last Wednesday.

A 13-year-old girl from Ozu, Japan was moving from the shallow end to the deep end of the pool and didn't resurface.

She was taken to a Hastings hospital in critical condition, and later died at Children's Hospital in Omaha on Sunday.

On Facebook, the BHAC released a statement Saturday offering condolences to family and friends of the girl, and offered anyone with Hastings Aquacourt season passes free entry for the rest of the summer.

The Blue Hill Aquatic Center is open from 1:00-8:00 p.m. daily this season.

(Note:) The statement was released Saturday before the girl had died.
