GIPD says drunk teens kicked, threatened to kill officers

Two teenage boys are facing charges in Grand Island after police say they were violent toward officers.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Two teenage boys are facing charges in Grand Island after police say they were violent toward officers.

It happened just before midnight on Tuesday in the central part of town. Police say two 17-year-old boys were drunk. According to a news release, one boy pulled away and kicked officers. The other threatened to kill the officers and their families.

The first boy is in a juvenile detention center facing assault on an officer, obstruction, resisting arrest and minor in consumption charges. The second boy was released to his parents and faces a terroristic threats charge.
