GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The ballots for the upcoming special election in Grand Island will soon be in the hands of voters.
According to a news release by the City of Grand Island, the ballots for the special election to establish a Good Life Economic Development Program will be mailed to voters on Monday.
The program would help capture tax revenue that would otherwise go to the state.
Officials say voters are required to provide a form of identification on their mail-in ballot. Either their Nebraska driver's license number or state identification card number must be on the back of the envelope. Voters could also provide a photocopy of their valid photo ID.
Ballots need to be returned to the Hall County Election Commissioner’s office by Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 5:00 p.m.
