Six arrested after trespassing incident involving masks and machete, police say
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Six people are facing charges in Grand Island after a trespassing incident that police say involved masks and a machete.
It happened around 4:45 Friday afternoon in the central part of town. A news release says police received a call about several people wearing masks and threatening people inside of a house. Investigators say Emily Rodriguez recruited Johnathan Mason, Jesus Patino, Adam Diaz-Archer and Austin Baker to fight the people inside the house.
According to the release, Mason grabbed a machete from a shed on the property and displayed it to the people in the house. Once officers arrived, Mason ran away and threw the machete on a roof.
Police arrested all five suspects and issued a citation to a 17-year-old girl for child abuse because officers believe her infant child was in the group’s vehicle during the incident.
