HASTINGS, Neb. — A Hastings woman has died following a vehicle and pedestrian crash.

Hastings Police Captain Jason Haase says it happened around 6:15 Wednesday night at the intersection of W. South St. and S. Hastings Ave. Haase says an eastbound pickup hit a 71-year-old woman as she crossed the street on an electric mobility scooter. An ambulance transported the woman to a local hospital where she died. The pickup driver wasn’t hurt.

Haase says drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors. The Hastings Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol are investigating the crash.
