GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Discussions continue at the Board of Commissioners in Hall County concerning the future of the courthouse.

At Tuesday’s commissioners meeting, members debated expansion options.

The board voted 4-2 against commissioner Gary Quandt’s action of looking at the possibility of a standalone building. His proposal includes a 50,000 square foot structure that he claims could save taxpayers as much as $10 millions.

Right now, the board is planning a $33 million courthouse remodel.

The board also took action on the request for a proposal for Davis Design to move forward with hiring a construction manager at risk. Members voted 4-2.
