Grand Island names new city treasurer/finance director

The city of Grand Island has a new treasurer/finance director.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - The city of Grand Island has a new treasurer/finance director.

At Tuesday’s city council meeting, members approved Matthew Gleason to fill the position. 

Since 2014, Gleason served as an Instructor of Business and Director of Accounting and Audit Services for Peru State College. Prior to that he was a financial analyst for Hudl and assistant Vice President for Fiscal Affairs/Controller for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.

Gleason will oversee the finance department and serve as a liaison between the city and various community boards.

He will have a starting salary of $129,773.97.
