GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The Downtown Development Tour in Grand Island is back and it's highlighting new developments.

The last time organizers hosted the Downtown Development Tour at Railside was during COVID and it was virtual.

Economic Vitality committee chairman AJ Fruchtl said they want to showcase the businesses that have invested into downtown and made it a destination.

“We want to expose Railside and show people that this is a private-public benefit from what the city has provided, whether it be the lights that we’ve installed a couple years ago," Fruchtl said. "But also we couldn’t do it without the entrepreneurial spirit that these business owners have done.”

The tour features 10 of the most recent developments since 2020. Among the businesses are Kiko’s Cantina, Create 308, Big Red Treats and more.

The self-guided free tour suggests starting at Amur Plaza where there’ll be a brochure with information about the places.

The tour will take place on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
