HASTINGS, Neb. — Military officials are investigating what caused a crew of pilots to make an emergency landing with an Army National Guard helicopter on Wednesday.

A news release says a CH-47 Chinook helicopter made the emergency precautionary landing at the Nebraska Army National Guard’s Greenlief Training Site near Hastings around 6:30 p.m. The four crew members were evaluated by medical personnel and didn’t have any injuries.

The release says the helicopter sustained damage and will remain in place until the investigation is finished.

The helicopter and crew are based at the Nebraska Army National Guard’s aviation support facility in Grand Island.
