Authorities investigating fatal trailer fire in Wilcox

Authorities say no foul play is suspected in a fire that claimed a life in Central Nebraska.

WILCOX, Neb. — Authorities say no foul play is suspected in a fire that claimed a life in Central Nebraska.

The Kearney County Sheriff’s Office says the Wilcox Fire Department responded to a fire call around 2:45 Tuesday morning. It happened at a trailer home in the 300 block of E. Franklin St. According to a news release, firefighters found a body inside the trailer after they contained the fire.

Officials ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death and to identify the victim. Several agencies are involved in the investigation.
