HAMPTON, Neb. -- A village in Hamilton County is under a boil advisory.

According to a news release, the village of Hampton was placed in the advisory starting Tuesday morning.

Authorities say the village's system has lost pressure due to a water main break, but maintenance is being done to correct the issue.

Officials say it is necessary for water to be boiled for one minute in order to be safe for drinking and cooking. Sampling has confirmed that no bacteria contamination occurred.

Village officials are working with the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy to protect the public.
