HASTINGS, Neb. – After receiving roughly 3-5 inches of snow throughout the morning and afternoon, Hastings' main arterial roads are slushy and slick, while side streets remain almost completely covered with snow.

Due to poor visibility, the Adams County Roads Department (ACRD) is pulling their plows and motor-graders off the roads as of Monday evening. A post from their Twitter account says they won't begin plowing until 7 am Tuesday morning.

"We implore that the public only travel if absolutely necessary as to not endanger themselves and our crewmembers." said the Emergency Management News Release.

As winds increase this evening and into tomorrow, drifts will continue to be an issue for travel, even once they have been cleared.

ACRD says to Expect near-impossible travels tomorrow morning and into the early afternoon.

Closures on Interstate-80 have also begun to pop up due to poor driving conditions

Snow is expected to taper off this evening, but weather reports say it could snow again later in the evening into the Tuesday overnight.

To find out where city snowplows have been recently visit the City of Hastings website.
