Teenager hospitalized in Hamilton County with gunshot wound

A 17-year-old has been hospitalized after being accidentally shot by another teenager on Sunday.

HAMILTON COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - A 17-year-old has been hospitalized after being accidentally shot by another teenager on Sunday.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Aurora Memorial Hospital to investigate and determined that the injured teenager was accidentally shot in the shoulder by another 17-year-old while inside a vehicle. The two had been hunting small animals.

The injured teenager has been transported to an Omaha hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the incident remains under investigation.
