CENTRAL CITY, Neb. — Multiple people are being treated at hospitals after separate accidents in Merrick County.

On Monday, sheriff’s deputies responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 30 near 3rd Road, which is about four miles east of Grand Island.  The Sheriff’s Office says icy conditions caused a westbound pickup to leave the road and flip onto its top. An ambulance transported both people in the truck to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office says icy conditions contributed to another accident early Tuesday morning. It happened at Highway 30 and 21st Road, which is six miles northeast of Central City. Investigators say a westbound car slid across the center line and rolled. Six people were in the car and all but one were transported to a local hospital for treatment. A child, who investigators say wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car during the crash. That child was transported to a trauma facility in Lincoln.
