GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A new bonus program is incentivizing people to buy tickets to concerts at the Nebraska State Fair as early as possible.

State Fair officials say they will announce their first show for the 2024 fair next Tuesday and will make another concert announcement later in the month. Tickets will go on sale for the concerts about two weeks after the announcements. People who buy tickets in the first two weeks after they go on sale will receive either a price discount or what the fair calls a great reserved seat.

“Our announcements and ticket sales are a bit different this year,” Executive Director Jaime Parr said in a statement. “We will announce individual acts as the deals are complete. Ticket sales will begin within days after the announcement and the absolute best time to buy will be within the first 14 days of each on sale.”

The fair is planning seven national concerts for the 2024 event. The indoor concerts will be held inside Heartland Events Center. Outdoor shows will be in the newly renovated Anderson Field. The music genres include hip hop, country, a TikTok star, Classic Country, and Contemporary Christian music.

"We are offering an early bird buying discount for outdoor shows,” Events and Entertainment Director Karli Schulz said. “Outdoor, festival-style shows will have tickets at up to 30% discount in the first two weeks. For the indoor shows, securing reserved seats in your preferred viewing area is a great reward for buying early.”

The announcement comes after the Nebraska State Fair doubled its concert budget to $1.5 million for main stage entertainment.

The 2024 Nebraska State Fair will run August 23-September 2 at Fonner Park in Grand Island.
