New sound system installed in downtown Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb. — People in downtown Kearney will now get to listen to music as they maneuver the streets.

The city installed a new speaker system along Central Avenue last week. A news release says the speakers will play daily, low volume, licensed, family-friendly music. Organizers will be able to use the speakers during special events.

Music will be played from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. The speakers were installed as part of a beautification initiative for Downtown Kearney on the Bricks.
