GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A data processing center will not be built in Doniphan.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Hall County Board of Commissioners denied a request for a conditional use permit for the data center.

At the beginning of the year, the commissioners approved a different cryptocurrency mining facility in Hall County.

The company behind the new project, Archgreen, wanted to add another data center in Doniphan on Giltner Road.

At the Oct. 10 commissioners meeting, the community voiced concerns about the project, which was enough reason for the board to vote 7-0 against the permit.
