KEARNEY, Neb. -- A Fremont runner is the Class A Boys cross country champion and the Tigers finished second as a team. Juan Gonzalez won his second straight title with an unofficial time of 15:26.51.

After running together for much of the race, Gonzalez pulled ahead of Jack Witte late to win by nine seconds.

Fremont and Creighton Prep tied for first in the team scores, with Prep winning the tiebreaker because of the time of their sixth runner.
