GRAND ISLAND, Neb.- The current interim city engineer/public works director in Grand Island is now assuming the role permanently.
In May 2022, Grand Island Public Work Director John Collins retired. In his place, Keith Kurz assumed the position in an interim capacity.
At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the council unanimously approved a request to appoint Kurz as the new City Engineer/Public Works Director.
He had been serving as interim for the past 16 months. Kurz worked as the assistant public works director before getting the interim title. Mayor Roger Steele said he has watched Kurz work and has found his work ethic to be excellent.
