HALL COUNTY, Neb. -- A side-by-side utility vehicle accident claimed one life and sent several people to the hospital in central Nebraska.
 
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene of the accident west of Grand Island shortly before 1:30 on Sunday morning.
 

A news release said the incident occurred on private property and the driver, a teenager from Grand Island, lost control of the utility vehicle. It tipped and ejected the six passengers.

All of the passengers were injured and transported to a local hospital. One of the passengers, 18-year-old Jacqueline Torres, died at the hospital. 

The Nebraska State Patrol, the Grand Island Police Department, and the Grand Island Fire Department assisted in the incident. 

The investigation is still open.
