HASTINGS, Neb. — Construction on a Central Nebraska hospital is nearly complete.

Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings says it will reopen the visitor entrance on the east side of the hospital on September 5. Work will also begin soon on the link between the MLH Medical Office Building and the main hospital.

A news release says the work on the link is one of the final parts of a construction project that has doubled the size of the medical office building. The new construction will flatten out the link’s grade and bring it up to date with the current look of the medical office building. Work will be finished in about three months.

The hospital will cut the ribbon on its new medical office building in late September.

Patients and visitors moving between the main hospital and the MOB will be able to walk from the South MOB Entrance (letter D on the enclosed map) and the Visitor Entrance (letter C on the enclosed map).

Currently, the Bryan College of Health Sciences has moved in to the Third Floor of the new MOB. In October, Hastings Family Care will move into the Second Floor, and Hastings Orthopaedics will move into the First Floor in January 2024. This will bring many MLH clinics together in one location.

Opening the Visitor Entrance (C) also provides easy access to the main hospital’s Caring Kind Gift Shop, Garden View Grill and the elevators. Employee parking has been moved to make way for more visitor parking on the southeast corner of the MLH campus.

The Visitor Entrance will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Volunteers will be available for much of that time to help visitors if needed.

Surgery patients should continue to use the Surgery Entrance (B) and those using Outpatient Services or checking in to the hospital should continue to use the North Entrance (A).
