New county court judge announced for central Nebraska
Central Nebraska will have a new county court judge starting in September.
ALMA, Neb. -- Central Nebraska will have a new county court judge starting in September.
On Monday, Gov. Jim Pillen announced the appointment Bryan McQuay, of Alma, as a county court judge in the Ninth Judicial District in Nebraska.
This district includes Hall and Buffalo counties.
According to the press release, McQuay has actively practiced law in rural Nebraska for the past 24 years. He has served as a county attorney in Harlan, Kearney, and Phelps counties; and operates the private practice of Person & McQuay in Alma.
It was also noted that McQuay's legal experience covers a variety of areas that include juvenile issues, criminal and civil law, real estate and personal injury. He has also served as a special prosecutor in Adams, Buffalo, Franklin, Furnas, Phelps, and Webster counties.
McQuay is filling a judicial position that was created by amendments in the Nebraska Legislature that created a fifth county court judge seat.
He will be taking the seat Sept. 1.
