KEARNEY, Neb. — A central Nebraska art teacher is set to become the new Director of Learning and Engagement at the The Museum of Nebraska Art.

The museum in Kearney announced the appointment of Christine Brown on Wednesday. She comes to the museum from Blue Hill Community Schools where she has been teaching art education to grades 7-12 since 2000. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Hastings College since 2012.

A news release says Brown’s extensive educational background, along with her knowledge of curriculum and state standards make her a fit the position.

The museum is currently closed for an extensive renovation project but is set to reopen next year.
